gas uses the same frame on every page: a vertical menu on the left, a bar with the account context at the top, the page content in the middle. This article is a map of the interface and shows you where to find what. How the individual modules work is described in separate articles.
Left menu
The menu is the main dashboard. The items run from the top in this order: Overview, Campaigns, Goals, Custom measurement, then the individual networks (Facebook, Instagram, Meta Ads, TikTok, Pinterest, Google Ads, Sklik, YouTube, Websites) and finally Media monitoring, Tourism data, Reports and Settings.
The networks are groups. Click the name and the group expands to show its individual pages, for Facebook these are Overview, Posts, Stories and Events. When you are on one of the pages in a group, the group expands on its own.
Right at the bottom, below the dividing line, is a circle with your initials. It takes you straight to your user profile.
- Move your mouse over the left menu, which is narrowed down to icons by default. The menu expands.
- In the top right corner of the panel, click the pin button.
- The menu stays expanded even when the mouse moves away. Click the same button again to unpin it.
The menu is not the same for every account. Sections such as Meta Ads, Google Ads, Sklik, Custom measurement, Media monitoring, Tourism data and Reports appear only when the customer account has them in its plan. And until you connect a profile of a given network to the customer account, that section stays without data.
Top bar
Above the page content there is a horizontal bar. On the left is the name of the page you are on, in the middle the quick search field with the text Search pages and accounts, on the right the customer account switcher and the bell with notifications.
- The customer account switcher shows the label Customer account and below it the name (or abbreviation) of the account you are currently working on. Click it to open the selection. It appears only when you have access to more than one customer account, otherwise the name is simply written out.
- Quick search opens when you click into the field or press Ctrl+K, Cmd+K on a Mac. It searches across navigation, settings, linked accounts, campaigns, goals and metrics.
- The bell shows unread notifications. Click it and you get a list with a Mark all as read button.
Page header
The page itself begins below the bar. At the top is its name and next to it the controls. Which ones appear depends on the particular page:
- Refresh: reloads the page data.
- Period selection: Last 7 days, Last 28 days, Last month, This year, Custom range and others. The selected period stays in place even when you move to another page.
- Interval selection, the unit the data is added up by: Day, Week, Month, Quarter or Year.
- Profile selection: on network pages where you have more than one profile connected.
Settings
Settings is the last item in the menu and it is a dashboard with three cards. Each one has an I want to set up button.
- User profile: settings that affect only your own environment in the application, that is language, appearance, password and notifications.
- Connected services: signing in to the platforms and connecting specific profiles to the customer account.
- Customer account: shared settings visible to the whole team, that is subscription, users, linked accounts and print templates. Only administrators of the customer account can open this card.
On a phone and tablet
On a phone, instead of the left menu there is a bottom bar with four buttons: Dashboard, Search, Notifications and Menu. The Menu button opens the navigation across the whole screen. In the top bar, instead of the page name, you see the name of the customer account you are working on.
On a tablet, the menu hides behind the button with three lines in the top left and slides out from the side of the screen.
On a phone, tables are not shown as a grid but as cards one below another. Forms and dialogs open across the whole screen.
Guides
The System guide starts when you log in for the first time. It highlights individual places on the screen one by one and explains them. You move with the Back and Next buttons, at the end there is Finish. You can close it at any point with the skip link.
In the bottom right there is a floating Setup guide button with a yellow number showing how many connections are still missing. Click it and it shows a list of platforms (Meta, Google, TikTok, Pinterest, Sklik), the status of each item and Authorise or Set up links for whatever is left. Close it with the Skip guide button, or with Finish once you have completed all the steps.
Once you finish or skip a guide, it will not start on its own again.
Subscription warning
When the end of the subscription is approaching, a coloured warning with the number of remaining days appears in the top bar next to the customer account switcher, for example License expiring, in 5 days. An administrator of the customer account gets to Settings → Customer account → Subscription by clicking it, everyone else gets a window with contact details for the administrators. If the subscription is no longer running, gas also shows a red Subscription status panel above the page content.
Common problems
You cannot see a section in the menu that a colleague has
The menu is built according to the plan of the customer account. Check in the top bar which account you are on and switch if needed. If the section is missing there too, it is not part of the plan.
The menu keeps closing
On a computer it is narrowed down to icons by default and expands when you move the mouse over it. Pin it with the button in the top right corner of the panel.
You cannot see the customer account switcher
It appears only when you have access to more than one customer account. With a single account its name is simply written out.
The Customer account card will not open
These settings are managed only by administrators of the customer account. Ask the administrator of your account to make the change.
